The boys helped bake brownies last night.  Enough said.

Mama said there'd be days like this . . .

"They'll be days like this mama said, (mama said mama said)!"
And boy did we have one, well at least a half hours worth. SO, it started while in the shower. I hear a little rummaging around in the good ole' makeup drawer and look out to see my sweet, innocent, youngest son sitting on the floor, make up brush in hand, swirling around what could only be the
remnants of my not so cheap MAC blush all over the floor. Granted, it was on it's last leg, it had crumbled apart in the container and I have had it for, oh my gosh, a little over two years! (I don't know what's sadder, the fact that my son likes to play with makeup or the fact that it takes me over two years to use it all up - is there an expiration date on stuff like that?) Anyway, not two minutes after cleaning this mess up Jacob walks up to me, hand extended, mumbling something about yucky and poo poo. I'm sure all of you have already figured out what I am going to say and yes, that is poop on his hand. The past week Jacob has started occasionally sticking his hands down the back of his pants - no idea why. My guess is that he did it and oops, there was something there! I don't know. It was just gross. So gross I thought I would share it with all of you! All I can say is that the silver lining of this cloud is that it was a good thing it wasn't Aidan, otherwise poop would have been everywhere! Needless to say, we got that cleaned up, finished getting ready and headed to the Railroad Park where we played, had a nice lunch and rode the train with Nan, Great Aunt Lori and Great Great Aunt Sue from California! (Disclaimer: we just say Aunt Lori and Aunt Sue, the "greats" sound so old to me and they are not, old that is - they are great!) Despite the start of the day, the rest of the day was alot of fun!

We Love Baths!!

So much that we climb in fully clothed - shoes 'n all!  And of course it happens on a night when it's already past bed time and I planned on a quick bath.  We had just gotten home from Cody's softball game, which the boys got super dirty at, and I was getting, what I thought would be a quick bath together.  I went to grab something and when I turned back around, SOMEONE had made their way into the bath.  So I learned two very important things today. 1. Aidan can climb in the bath tub on his own now.  2.  Aidan has no problem climbing in the bath tub with or without clothes on.  It was pretty funny.

Not so punctual with this post . . .

First, I am so sorry for not getting this post up sooner! I've been back for over a week and am just now getting to it. I'm hoping that those with kids and who have been away from them for 4 days understand why it wasn't the first thing I got too. :-) That being said, on March 27th I hopped on a plane and headed out to Boston to visit some very close friends of ours. I spent the next four days with Matt, Amy, Heidi and the newest Ulrickson, Shiloh. It was SO great to see all of them again and to meet Shiloh. I had a blast playing with the girls, catching up with Matt and having some much needed girlfriend time with Amy. I am so thankful for the time I got with them. I am also thankful that they understood why I caught an earlier plane on Monday. This was the first time I was away from my boys for more than one day. The first day and night weren't too bad, but by the second night I was really missing them! If I would have waited and taken my scheduled flight home, I would have arrived too late and wouldn't have been able to see them until Tuesday morning. So, by the grace of God, I was able to catch a much earlier flight and made it home in time to spend the afternoon with my boys. Despite missing the boys, I have no regrets about going and I had an awesome time. I miss the Ulrickson Family so much already.

Thanks for a great time!!

Smiley girl!
